Fees for the Serve® American Express® Prepaid Debit Account – Jackson Hewitt® Co-Brand

The Monthly Fee will be charged to your Serve® American Express® Jackson Hewitt® Prepaid Debit Account at the end of every monthly statement period. You will see the Monthly Fee listed on your monthly statement and your Transaction History. No fee for residents of NY, TX, or VT. The Monthly Fee will be withdrawn from your Available Balance starting one calendar month after you successfully sign up for an Account.
Please Note: If your Available Balance is less than your monthly fee, a partial fee will be charged until your Account reaches a $0 balance. To collect the difference, we will first look to your Goals and then to your Subaccount(s) to charge the remainder of the fee. If you have no money available in any of these Accounts, we will not charge the fee. Serve Jackson Hewitt will not take your Account into negative balance as a result of this fee.

Because you can't overdraft your Serve® American Express® Jackson Hewitt® Prepaid Debit Account, there are no overdraft fees. Additionally, you can add a backup funding source to ensure your transactions will not be declined due to lack of funds in your Account. See the Serve Jackson Hewitt Consumer User Agreement for more information on Backup Funding.

If you make a purchase in a currency other than U.S. dollars, a 2.7% Foreign Transaction Fee will be charged on that transaction made outside the U.S. after conversion to US dollars. For example: If you make a purchase that, after conversion from the local currency to U.S. dollars, equals $100, you will be charged a $2.70 Foreign Transaction Fee.

You may withdraw money for free from over 40,000 MoneyPass® ATMs in the U.S. Transactions at non-MoneyPass® ATMs have up to $3.50 Serve fee.* ATM operator fees may also apply. See here for locations and other details.

Transaction limits apply to the Serve Jackson Hewitt Prepaid Debit Account. There are different limits that apply to temporary Serve Jackson Hewitt cards and personalized Serve Jackson Hewitt cards. We suggest you register for a personalized Card if you are not automatically signed up during the tax appointment to enjoy the full benefits of Serve Jackson Hewitt.

After your tax refund becomes available from the IRS, it will be added onto your temporary Serve Jackson Hewitt card. You can then access your refund on that temporary card until you receive and activate your personalized Serve Jackson Hewitt Card. Note that a temporary card may only be loaded via:
The Direct Deposit of a federal tax refund or a state tax refund (where permitted under applicable law), up to a combined maximum of $10,000.
Jackson Hewitt program loads including Year End Advance or Refund Advance up to $1,000.
Subject to completion of the online registration process and activation of the temporary Serve Jackson Hewitt card, via cash reload across 45,000 CVS/pharmacy®, Family Dollar®, Walmart®, and participating 7 ELEVEN® locations, up to an additional $1,500.

You can access your Jackson Hewitt program load funds on the temporary Serve Jackson Hewitt card. Note that this temporary Serve Jackson Hewitt card may only be loaded via Jackson Hewitt program loads up to $1,000.
