It is shown that many scientists, almost all of the news media, communications media and educational organizations, when discussing natural science, are using a technique that breaks one of the cardinal rules of the scientific method. Without you having any knowledge that it is occurring, this linguistic technique may force you to alter your personal belief-system. Examples are given that you can use to identify this deception and correct its unfortunate consequences. No mathematics appears in this paper.
