All About Search Engine Secrets

It's not a one-shot deal!

Did you know the following?

  • Search engines change their searching algorithms often.
  • Which means...
  • What shows up in the top ten one week can become invisible the next.
  • And, what shows up high in Altavista, for example, might be at the bottom of the heap in Infoseek.

Let's say that you've hired someone to create a wonderful site. Does your person know:

  • Concise web site design techniques that improve your ranking without using SPAM?
  • The importance of related links so you can join in the network of your colleagues and provide information?
  • The key components to a web site that entices people to explore?

Now imagine that you want to submit it to the major search engines. You receive in email an offer that for only $99 or $49 or $whatever, you can submit your pages to over 600 gazillion sites!

Have you considered:

  • Are the sites relevant? Will your customers be there?
  • Will the pages be resubmitted for no extra cost every month or so?
  • Do any of the major search engines regard multiple submissions at one time to be spam, and would penalize your site?
  • The software these people use is available to anyone on the net (for example, GK Web Spider?)

So if it's impossible to guarantee top ten visibility, why do companies offer it?
