We’ve made an addition to the scuba park – a fish habitat. Some of our members got a donation of small section of drain tile (about 6 inches in diameter) and secured them together in a triangular pattern. An "installation" dive was planned, and the new "habitat" was put down in the park. We’ll monitor it over the next year to see what develops (perch, zebra mussels?).
We’re also looking at some other objects that have been donated. They’ll be ready to drop in the park by next spring. These projects always require volunteers – on shore, in the project boats and in the water.
Of course, anyone is welcome to dive at the scuba park, which is there for the enjoyment of all divers. If it’s going to stay that way, you must leave it as you found it. Please do not remove pieces of the airplane or other objects we have placed there.
The airplane is still considered property of the United States Navy. We merely have their permission to use it. It is a violation of federal law to remove anything from sunken naval vessels without express written consent of the United States Navy!
