Early History: Some high school play
College Career: Ken played for Princeton from '79 to '83 helping them win the MA Regionls in '83.
Club Career: After graduating Princeton Ken moved to San
Diego and played with the Spinoffs from '83-'85. Ken then
migrated to Hawaii (for academic reasons) and played with the
Huluguns from '86-'90. Next he played for the Boulder
Stains from '90-92 and has been playing with
RAGE ever since.
Favorite Ultimate Moment: Catching the disc that sent the Princeton to Nationals in '83.
Note: I have played competitive ultimate for 17 years and
hope I'm still playing in the year 2000. What can I say - I'm an
Ultimaddict. The game has given me tremendous value and satisfaction,
even when I faced heartbreaking disappointment, which I've had my
share of. But I have no complaints, because my teammates have always
meant more to me than winning or losing, and the intensity of the
emotion on the field has always called me to a higher level of
devotion than anything else I've done for so long.
I have many great memories from the game, all involving the people I've had the privilege of playing with, or against. To earn their respect as a player and a person is my highest ambition. Making Nationals in '96 after 13 years is very satisfying to me, and has given me the chance to reflect on the value of this game for me. After about the sixth straight loss in a game to go to nationals, I wrote the equation Life = Pain = Love = Ultimate. Now I'd rather it stood Life = Pain = Love = Joy = Ultimate. Corny? Perhaps. You decide. I've put my heart and soul onto an Ultimate field for 17 years solid, so perhaps my perspective is a bit warped!
While not playing Ultimate: Ken theorizes about stars and light scattering.
