Please see our club calendar for our many additional activities.

The Oakland Yacht Club was founded in 1913 and is one of the Bay Area's preeminent boating organizations. We are members of Pacific Inter Club Yacht Association (PICYA), and extend reciprocal privileges to members of other yacht clubs in this area and around the world.

Membership is approximately 300 families from Northern California and Nevada, as well as a number of members who are currently off cruising.

Sail and power are both well represented in the club. Our racing program includes single-handing and predicted log, as well as sheer speed. Our cruises are to locations on the San Francisco Bay, the Delta, and to destinations outside the Gate.

Oakland Yacht Club is within walking distance to numerous shops and restaurants (Marina Village Shopping Center) and a motel (Marina Village Inn). A walk or a short dinghy ride will take you to many chandleries and boatyards and Jack London Square in Oakland. And of course, sunny Alameda is a great walking and biking town.
