Dear Friends, This coming weekend is one of the busiest of our entire year. We're doing bike safety checks at the Kingsessing Recreation Center AND at Leidy Elementary School, raising funds by selling surplus stock at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center swap meet, and providing valet bike parking at Mount Airy Day. On top of all that, it's SPRING DUMP DAYS PART II! On May 3rd and 4th, Lower Merion Township is holding its periodic township clean up and bulk trash days. Lower Merion residents have an opportunity to clean out their attics and garages and take all their surplus to the Solid Waste Transfer Facility on And a handful of non-profits (including NBW) get to collect some things they really need. It's not too late to volunteer. Call 215.386.0316 or email info AT neighborhoodbikeworks DOT org to help staff the collection table, drive bicycles back to the shop, or ride out with some of our students. Residents of Lower Merion Township can also help by bringing your unused bicycles to the Public Works Complex on Woodbine Avenue this weekend between 8am and 4pm. Please be sure to drop them off at our table, NOT in the scrap metal area. Thanks to Central Bucks Bicycle Club for the truckload of amazing bikes, and to Bob Ruddy for taking the time to bring them to us. We're looking forward to helping people get them back on the road. There's more cool stuff -- and more details -- on our blog. Read about our big Kinetic Sculpture Derby plans, and get the jump on more upcoming classes, fundraisers and sales, and special events. Stay up-to-date here. |
