This compelling short film by D. Todd Deeken (Gunslinger Productions) is an outdoors
nature drama. A young couple is taking a wilderness trip in the California mountains when
one is injured. Will they make it out alive, or freeze or bleed to death in the California
mountains? That brief synopsis in no way does this quality short film justice.
One of the first things I noticed about this film is the quality of the sound and sound effects.
Often a weak point in indy / low-budget films, the sound quality in this production is
strong without being obtrusive. Shot entirely outdoors, the filmmakers took advantage of the beauty of California's Mammoth Mountains. I'm sure the sound and overall quality of the film also
benefited from the fact that it was shot on 35mm film in surround sound!
Good cinematography, great sound, solid performances and a compelling story line, well told,
combine to make this a solid effort.
