Original Version Typographical Variations or Errors.

You can identify the original version by checking page 5. If the last line has the word "mathematicians," then you have the original version. Otherwise, you have the first revision."

[Note: First, I must apologize for the condition of this original version. I am truly sorry for this great inconvenience. Due to a communications failure, some of the following typographical variations or errors were supposed to be corrected in the first published version of this book. Unfortunately, this did not occur. I lost my external editor during production and all editing became my responsibility. Although my MS spelling and grammar checking software was used and indicated no errors this was not the case and an errorless presentation did not occur. Further, I use methods to compensate for a nasty form of dyslexia and Meniere's disease. However, due to restrictions placed upon me as a DoD federal employee relative to commercial projects and 9/11 activities, I simply ran out of time and was forced to rely upon my Microsoft spelling and grammar checker. This was a very substantial mistake. A corrected first revision will be published by mid-August 2002. I will only list significant typographical errors and if there is more than one of the same type, I might not list all of them. At the end of this page, is a special e-mail address relative to the material in this book. Please consider GAL 4:14] 06/28/02

I have used throughout this book informal and formal contractions such as "there're = there are" and "there's = there is" among many others. You can find these listed as contractions, informal or formal, at Wordsmyth The Educational Dictionary - Thesaurus (wordsmyth.net) when you execute a word search using there* There are only a few errors that change content. The term "line" will mean the written line not the skipped lines, => means "replace with" and the unqualified number is the page number. I would like to thank David A. Bradbury for supplying many of these corrections. I have not included all errors. Some with minor errors such as leaving off the "ed" from "comprehend" are not included. [For more information on my personal experiences with these types of disabilities, see dyslexia. Note: I have a mathematics book written by Hurd and Loeb and published by Academic Press, which has 77 significant typographical errors. Indeed, a 60 page paper published by A. Einstein in 1907 has 0.78 typographical errors per page. My original version has 0.40 typographical errors or variations per page.]

Pages 26, 85, 186, 211. In the original version, on these pages, I have used the verb form of the word "purpose." I chose a somewhat obsolete meaning purposely. But I failed to include this meaning in the glossary. The meaning is in the sense of to set forth, to propose, to design or (sometimes) to plan mentally but to do so resolutely or steadfastly, and with a definite aim kept in mind. 4/1/02

I have used the following special construction [1] - 15, line 18; page 118, line 8 from bottom. The word "pre-view" would be better written as "preview." However, for three other word-forms, (design, determine, construct), I purposely use the prefix "pre-" rather than the prefix "pre" since this book is written as a dialog, and this form is used as a means to emphasize the "pre." (I wonder if I'll be criticized for using this form.) I continue this practice on this Web page. 2/28/02

Thus far out of 93,769 words please consider the follow:

[2] - There are a few content errors, like page 52, line 1 from top; This does mean => This does not mean
[3] - 5, ¶ 3, line 6; most => must; last line; mathematicians => mathematics
[4] - 9, first full ¶, line 11 and page 11, line 8; you => your (there are others of this type)
[5] - 12, second full ¶, line 2 from bottom; delete the first word "language"
[6] - 14, first full ¶, line 13; significance => significant (There are more of this exact same type)
[7] - 17, first full ¶, line 3; Accept => except

[23] - 47, first line; delete the first "the" (there are also places where "the" should be inserted)
[24] - 48. In first full set-off and the first standard ¶s I use the term "mutation-generating." Some may disagree with this terminology. What I'm attempting to show using (2) has nothing to do with the content of this phrase. The logical argument is independent from the phrase used. If you wish (2) to correspond to what you comprehend as reality, then simply remove this phrase or replace it with something like "mutant-related."
[25] - 49, line 3 from bottom; most => must
[26] - 50, first full ¶, line 11; using => used

Well, I have surpassed 77 errors. What this does is to indicate that a revised second version is needed and this first revision is the only one now being printed. On the other hand, as they would say in the 1700s, these modes of "creative" spelling do not alter the basic content of the presented material. Under the explanation given above, using these original version typographical variations as a basis for criticism would be a foolish endeavor.
