Additional help for steps 28 of the dollar bill flower

Try practicing the "Elias-stretch-fold" after step 20. It's easier at that point because the top part (the bloom) isn't constricted yet. All that is really necessary is to collapse the pleats on the existing creases; there aren't any new ones. Here's a more detailed walk-through:

  1. Pinch all the pleats near the top, allowing the bottom to fan out.
  2. Fold over the lowest horizontal valley-crease, including the lowest diagonal valley-crease. The 2 left-most eighth-pleats will combine.
  3. Fold back the horizontal mountain-crease and its 2 diagonal subordinates. The pleats will close up more.
  4. Finally pinch the last few creases at the apex of the triangle of creases. The bottom-right corner now forms an appendage that can swing up and down.

The divot in the right edge must be pushed in to complete it.
