Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Walter was taught by his father, who was also a musician and his greatest inspiration. He appeared on television at the age of seven, and studied piano and worked as a sound engineer to enhance his skills. At age 22, Walter moved to Los Angeles to study at the Musicians Institute of Technology, in the Percussion Division.
Since then, Walter's career has been non-stop. He's played on over 15 records, including releases by Herb Alpert and Pedro Eustache, movies and TV, and has done many live performances including the 1999 Grammy Awards Ceremony with Ricky Martin. From 1999-2002, Walter was one of the eight-member cast of the famous Stomp theater show in San Francisco.
The Ethnicity tour is his first with Yanni, and his talents with percussion instruments add an all-new dimension to the performances.
