Danny released his debut album, San Rafael 560, in the fall of '99.  Performing with him on this album were his brothers and his father, as well as Karen Briggs and Pedro Eustache.  See his website below for more information.

Danny's Official Bio

Daniel de los Reyes, internationally known percussionist / drummer and currently one of the world’s most sought after musicians, was born in New York City to a Puerto Rican mother and a Cuban father. Daniel de los Reyes moved with his family to Puerto Rico as an infant. At the age of 11, his family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he continued to reside until moving to Los Angeles at the age of 25 to expand his musical career. Over the years, Daniel has brought his creative energy and artistic talents to the stage while working with Yanni, Lionel Richie, Sheena Easton, Miami Sound Machine, and Steve Winwood to name just a few from a long list of well-known performers. In 1998, Daniel received international acclaim completing a one-year tour with multiplatinum-selling artist Yanni. His unbridled enthusiasm and musical talent can be seen and heard on Yanni’s current best-selling "Tribute" video and album project. Yanni’s "Tribute" video was filmed during live performances at India’s breathtaking Taj Mahal and the Forbidden City in Beijing, China. Daniel can also be seen on recent video performances with Yanni at Royal Albert Hall in London, England, and at Toji Temple in Kyoto, Japan.

Daniel was born into a musical family. Growing up in a home blessed with the gift of music, Daniel’s soul was filled with the passionate Cuban rhythms and melodies that permeated his home day after day as a child. His own passion for music became obvious at the age of two when his parents noticed that he was instinctively drawn to all types of drums. Listening to his mother’s sweet voice as she sang Latin music all day long combined with his father’s jazz influences and rhythms from all over the world, Daniel absorbed a unique blend of musical rhythms that continue to influence his personal style of music today.

While living in Puerto Rico and Las Vegas, Daniel’s father, Walfredo de los Reyes III, frequently invited his musician friends into the de los Reyes home. It was not uncommon to walk through the door of the family home greeted by the passionate sounds of musicians such as Cuban bongo players Armando Peraza and Marcelino Valdez, well-known drummer Alex Acuna, or the great bass player, Cachao playing alongside Daniel and his family. Full of energy and enthusiasm as a young adult, Daniel devoted as many as 10 to 12 hours a day honing his percussion skills. Many nights his mother found him sleeping with his drums still in his hands after a long practice session.

Daniel is currently planning an album of original songs that encompass the international musical influences he has been privileged to absorb in his professional career. Having traveled extensively, Daniel seeks out the local culture and has experienced the musical flavors from Morocco to China to India to Brazil to Puerto Rico to name just a few of the exotic locales that have inspired him over the years. This album will be a compilation of this extraordinary music Daniel wishes to honor by creatively expressing himself with a variety of percussion instruments and lead vocals as well as many other unique instruments from around the world.

On San Rafael 560, his debut album, Daniel de los Reyes demonstrates his finely tuned musical skills on congas, timbales, drums, guiro, clave, vocals and maracas. A project very close to his heart, San Rafael 560 transports the listener on a musical journey back in time to recapture the Cuban spirit of the 1940s and 50s and fully embraces Daniel’s rich musical heritage.
