Rickey - Ricardo Sims performs with academic excellence and genuine depth of passion, whether singing concert classical, spiritual, praise and worship, jazz, rhythm and blues/soul or pop repertoire, or acting in musical theater.  He has inspired audiences of all ages throughout the United States and overseas with his musical and dramatic performances.

Mr. Sims’ tender yet powerful blend of talent and training have provided him with the unique opportunity of performing for two U.S. presidents (Reagan and Bush, Sr.), Queen Elizabeth II, Pope John Paul II, and two Olympic and Super Bowl half-time shows.

He has played lead roles in such musical theater shows as “Ain’t Misbehavin’,” “Showboat” and a number of religious productions.  A performer with a broad scope of abilities, Mr. Sims choreographs praise dance numbers and signs for the deaf, though now unsighted.

Mr. Sims also shares his talents with numerous churches, outreach ministries, coffee houses, clubs, and special-event television and radio programs throughout Southern California.  He sings for banquets, weddings and fund-raising galas, and teaches privately and conducts Vocal Dynamics clinics.  He is also directing a church ministry for the visually impaired and mentoring other visually impaired entertainers through his organization, “Nu Muzik Productions.”

Those stage performers who have inspired and influenced him most include such notables as Paul Robeson, Luciano Pavorotti, Lionel Harris, Luther Van Dross, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder and Ben Vereen.

Mr. Sims’ vision is to share his music with as much of the world as he can.  “It is only when I am performing,” he affirms, “that I feel the kind of joy and peace I believe we are all born to experience and share.”
