Darris, “Tony”, Marburger, 91, of Fischer, TX passed away Thursday
at McKenna Memorial Hospital in New Braunfels.

and then spent 14 years as an operating engineer for Goodyear Rubber
Co.. In 1950, he became an agent with State Farm Insurance and, with
Lucile’s help, built his own successful agency. This was always more
than a job for Tony, and he dedicated himself to faithfully serving
his clients through life-long relationships. After his retirement in
1982, he and Lucile built their home and moved to Fischer, TX where
he resided until his death.
Tony’s life was marked by
outstanding volunteerism, friendship, and community service. Among
his many involvements, he was a Life Member of the Canyon Lake Noon
Lions Club and a member of the Canyon Lake Masonic Lodge. He drove
children to Galveston’s burn center as a member of the Alzafar
Shrine Hospital Corps. He also served with the Canyon Lake Action
Center, the New Braunfels SOS Food Bank, the Texas Lions Children’s
Camp, and the Fischer Store School Community Center. He was also a
founder and life member of the Heritage Museum, a member of Eden
Home Associates and Development Board, and a member of Faith United
Church of Christ.

Marburger of Fredericksburg; son Alan Marburger and wife, Karen, of
