SUSETTE
JOY KNIGHT PIPKIN, beloved mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother, and aunt, passed away peacefully into
God's hands on April 4, 2009, the age of 84. She died as
she lived, with a gentle, sweet spirit, and strength from
God. Her husband of 62 years, Henry B. Pipkin, preceded
her in death in 2004. Sue and Henry were longtime, active

had many wonderful friends. These cherished friends were
very supportive of her during and after Henry's long
battle with Parkinson's. In her active days, Sue was
known as a fabulous Southern cook, growing pretty roses,
and participating in her church Body Recall exercise
program. She is survived by a loving and close-knit
family which includes daughters Donna Howington and
husband Joe, Suzanne Harrison and husband Tim, both of
San Antonio; son Mike Pipkin, of Houston; grandchildren
Dana Ivie and husband Jon, Ryan Harrison and wife
Stephanie; two great-grandchildren, Lauren and Ava Kate
Harrison, all of Houston. The family wishes to sincerely
thank her devoted and loving caregivers Edy, Wilma, and
Gloria, and more recently, Houston Hospice. Visitation
will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home on Tuesday,
April 7, 2009 from 5-8 pm. Funeral service will be held
at Glenbrook United Methodist Church, 8635 Glenvalley Dr,
on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at 10 am, with the Reverends
