RITA BOLIAN ALLRED, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on October 13, 2008 surrounded by her family, at the age of 89. Rita was born on the the 13th of May 1919, in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was the daughter of John Frederick and Camille Bolian. She married her husband, Christopher, on the 16th of September 1943, and remained by his side for sixty five wonderful years. She was a beautiful woman inside and out. She lit up the room with her glorious smile. Rita enjoyed dancing, cooking and spending time with family. She was an inspiration and a comfort to all who knew her. She is survived by her beloved husband, Christopher Allred, daughter, Patricia Allred Thomas, grandchildren; Christopher Bowman Thomas and wife, Rebecca, Alicia Thomas Garrison and husband, Monroe, great-grandchildren; Thomas and Charles Garrison, Caroline and Christopher Thomas Jr. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to her loving care givers, Agnes Hernandez, Theresa Coulter-Miller, Chris La Grone and Gulf Coast Hospice and to her loyal friends, Ernestine Lewis and Ethel and Johnny Milton. A private family graveside service was conducted at Memorial Oaks Cemetery on Thursday, the 16th of October 2008. A celebration of her life followed the service at her daughter's home.
