MARVIN H. PECK Sincerely a man
that truly loved and lived life. Born March 20, 1916 in Sandyville, Iowa
entered his heavenly promised home at the age of 92 on April 29, 2008. Marvin
was a pioneer in the US and international oil field business. His successful
career of over 60 years began at HOMCO and culminated with his own company
Peck-O-Matic, Inc. designing and manufacturing oilfield equipment used in the
major oilfields around the world. The Peck-O-Matic Hydraulic Tubing Tong is
still in use today. His years of service in the Association of Oilfield
Service Contracts and NOMADS developed countless friendships and memories. He
had a passion for traveling. Marvin and Alice enjoyed traveling the world.
They truly enjoyed their many wonderful friends from motor homing and are
charter members of the GMC Classics Motor Home Organization. Marvin in the
past loved boat racing and collecting antique vintage cars. He was very proud
of his movie career making films for Universal Studios. There were many years
and fun times with his buddies at the Llano deer lease and trips to the Indy
500. Marvin was a long time member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo
and one of the first to start bar-b-que cook-offs in the "Dome" parking
lot. He loved cooking and entertaining for their many friends and family.
Home was old Park Place and Glen Brook Valley for over 69 years. Member of
the Glen Brook Methodist Church, Marvin and Alice had in late years become
avid listeners of "Joel" on Sunday morning. Marvin was a 32nd
degree Mason and was a supporter of Shriners Hospital for Children and M. D.
Anderson Hospital. Survived by his loving family, wife of 69 years Alice
Conlon Peck, daughter Betty and husband Dickie Adams of La Grange, Texas, son
Bill Peck of Houston, adoring grandchildren Melissa and husband Bobby Craig,
great-grandchildren Brittany and Dobie Craig of Corpus Christi, Texas,
grandsons Don Adams of Nashville, Tennessee, and Blake Adams and
great-granddaughter Anna of Austin, loving sister Juanita Osborne of Tyler,
Texas, many doting nieces and nephews, faithful secretary of many years
Maxine Moye, long time friend and care giver Joe Romero and of course, his
buddy "Junior". Pallbearers will be Roger Christensen, John Leavesley,
Bobby Craig, Dobie Craig, Don Adams, and Blake Adams. Services at Forest Park
Lawndale: visitation Friday, May 2, 2008 6:00 -8:00 PM. Services Saturday,
May 3, 2008, 10:30 AM at Chapel of Angels conducted by Rev. William (Billy)
Watson. Burial will follow service.
