LOUISE
ALFORD, 96, of Houston, died of cancer at home on April 10, 2009. She
was preceded in death by her husband of 48 yrs., RV Alford, in 1983,
and her oldest daughter, Marilyn L'Hoste in 1968. Survivors: daughter,
Kathryn and her husband, Ted Batek; son, William Alford, who lived with
and cared for his mother; son, David Alford and his wife, Karen;
daughter, Debbie and her husband, David Grogg. Grandchildren: Stephen
L'Hoste and his wife, Janet; Sharon L'Hoste West; Scott L'Hoste and his
wife, Beth; Martha Batek Boswell and her husband, Ken; Nancy Batek Hyde
and her husband, Bryan; and Carolyn Batek; Daniel Alford, Emily Alford
Shaw and her husband, Matt: Christie Alford; Brian and Paul Grogg.
Great grandchildren are Jessica, Michael, and Amy L'Hoste; Luke and
Abby L'Hoste; Micah and Mason Boswell, and Kylie Hyde. Special thanks
and appreciation go to Louise's caregivers, Gloria, Cheryl, Eleanor,
Lucy, and Grace for their patience and loving care. Louise worked at
Cargill's Printing & Stationery Co. for 23 yrs. and was
VP/Treas. when she retired in 1981. She was also a long-time member of
Heights Presbyterian Church. Visitation for family and friends will be
held on April 14 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Heights Funeral Home, 1317
Heights Blvd., 77008, (713-862-8844). Services celebrating Louise's
life will be held on April 15 at 11:00 a.m. in the Heights Funeral Home
Chapel with burial to follow in Rosewood Memorial Park, Humble, TX. In
lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Heights Presbyterian
Church, 240 W. 18th, Houston, 77008, or to Vista Care Hospice,
713-290-1746.
