Balke, George E.

GEORGE E. BALKE, 67 years of age, passed away on Friday, January 18, 2008, at St. Luke's Hospital in Houston, Texas. He was born on August 15, 1940, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Ernest and Esther Balke. He was a retired teacher for the Houston Independent School District after many years of service. He taught at San Jacinto Community College and volunteered at the Galveston Bay Foundation. He was preceded in death by parents, Ernest and Esther Balke. He is survived by wife, Joyce; son Jeff Balke; step-daughters Angela Stagg and Jennifer Stagg; sister Sharon Balke; brothers and sisters-in-law David and Alice Balke, and Stephen and Ellen Balke. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, January 22, 2008, at 10:00 am in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home, 1317 Heights Blvd., Houston, Texas 77008. Memorial donations may be made in memory of George to the American Heart Association.
