CROCKETT ELLIOTT (COUGAR) KENNON 88 of Pasadena, Texas, devoted husband,
father, and grandfather passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2005. He
was born on September 10, 1917 in Gatesville, Texas. He served briefly
in the United States Marine Corps in the 1940s. He served 51 years in
education for the Houston Independent school district. He was known by
his friends, co workers, affectionly as "Cougar" because of his long
standing loyalty and support to the University of Houston. He was a
member of the South Main Baptist Church of Pasadena and a member of the
Maverick Sunday school class. He was a past Master of the East Gate
Lodge # 1153, and was a member of the Magnolia Chapter of the Eastern
Star #706. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Sue Kennon;
daughters and sons-in-law, Annette Sue & Don of Madisonville, Renee
LaRue & Harold Garner of La Porte, and Nancy Kay Brown; son, Donald
Elliot Kennon; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce & Richard Glass. He is
also survived by grandchildren, Julie Colwell , John & Cathy Garner of,
Kim & Justin Wood, Wendy Brown, and Samantha Kennon of ;
great-granddaughter, Madison Kay Wood. He was preceded in death by his
parents, John Elliot & Mazie Jewel Lewis Kennon. He was devoted to his
family, working very hard to provide for them and always thought of
family first. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 PM
Friday December 23, 2005 at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. Services
are set for 11:00 AM Saturday December 24, 2005 at Forest Park Lawndale
Funeral Home Main Chapel.
