Carolyn R. "Poppy" Fay

FAY, CAROLYN R. "POPPY" Age 88 of Rockwall, TX, passed away May 20, 2008. She was born July 4, 1919, in Franklin Co., TX, to James Murphy & Margaret Ruth (Rowland) Popplewell. Mrs. Fay was an expert seamstress and quilt maker, and enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. She was a former accountant for Collins-Rockwell, (now part of Boeing.) Her classmates at Adamson High School, in Oak Cliff, entered this quote about her in the high school year book in 1936: "A steady soul, that yields to rule, and quite ingenious, too, at school." Mrs. Fay is survived by her son: John R. Fay & wife Vikki of Garland, TX; daughter: Lynne Brez & husband Ray of Fountain Valley, CA; grandson: Sean Patrick Fay & wife Jill of Fate, TX; granddaughter: Wendi Brez of Colorado Springs, CO; great-grandchildren: Charlotte Grace Fay and Caleb Christian Fay; and sisters: Bernice Evans of Corpus Christi, TX, and Mary Beth McNulty & husband Charles of Ft. Worth, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: John Leo Fay; and two brothers. Services will be held at a later date.
