ON THE EVE OF
9-11
September 10,
2003
Today is one of
the most beautiful days I have ever seen in the 30 some years I have spent in
your Nation’s Capital. I have just returned from lunch at Union Railway
Station. The weather is crisp. The sky is a beautiful blue with big
cumulous clouds. A breeze is blowing about 15 miles per hour billowing the
3-story-tall American flags that hang in the 60-foot-high archways of Union Station. Every
flag from every building around is blowing straight as if standing at attention to
salute those individuals that died
on 9-11. This is truly your Nation’s Capital, you should be proud.
