Hi Rob,
Mrs. Batek called me last night, and we talked for some time about the letter
that I sent to her several weeks ago. It was great talking to her after all
these years.
I also furnished her the web address for the Class-62 website.
FYI:
Here is a brief summary of what I have been up to over the years.
1967: Graduated from Baylor with a major in Psychology and a minor in Biology.
1968 - 1969: Got caught up in the Viet Nam war, and served as an infantry
platoon sergeant in the 9th Infantry Division (1969).
1970 - 1972: Graduate school at Sam Houston State University (MBA).
1973: Married and had 2 children. We lived in Sugarland, while I worked at
Texas Instruments.
1980: Divorced, and thank the Lord, I got custody of my daughter Ashley, who
was 6, and my son Shane, who was 4. My children are, of course, now grown. Both
live in the Baytown area. My daughter is still single (engaged), and my son is
married with 3 children (2 daughters and 1 son).
1985: Moved to Arlington to work for National Semiconductor.
1995: Moved to Austin to work for my present employer, Advanced Micro Devices
(AMD).
2001: Returned to Viet Nam for a veteran's tour, and actually found my old
girlfriend. Instead of "talking" about this...I will simply attach a
website link that contains the story as well as pictures.

Thanks again for furnishing me the address for Mrs. Batek.

deserved it), but after I got to college at Baylor, I wanted to tell her
"Thanks...without you , I never would have survived Freshman
English". I saw
a picture of her from one of the reunions...hopefully she is still with us.
I would like to tell her how much I appreciated having her as a teacher.
Everytime I see one of those "Who is the teacher who had the greatest
impact
on you"...I think of her.
