I wish we could catch up with everybody at this reunion, but it is simply not possible this time. Many thanks to the planning committee and fantastic outreach group who contacted everybody! It always gives me a sense of grounding to check in and see what's been going on with former classmates. Having just flown into Houston recently on Southwest Airlines, I saw the old neighborhood of Garden Villas from above. When I'm coming into town on that airline, I always get a window seat on the left side of the plane so I won't miss anything.
My husband Bob is nicely recovering from his recent heart surgery…thankfully, he saw the right doctor in the nick of time, before he had a heart attack or stroke! Kudos to the great medical complex and highly trained physicians in Houston. The scariest part is now over. Our life in Santa Fe, New Mexico has been truly wonderful since we moved here in 1999, but it's time to come back home to Houston. One more of the many advantages of being there will be fewer plane connections with all the business travel that he still does (I tag along when it is convenient) to exotic places in the world. And then, there's the "lovely" Houston weather and no huge heating bills anymore…sigh, no shoveling snow.
Have a great Class Reunion Party - - - somebody propose a toast to those who can't be there this time, but will be next time!
