How do I start. I spent
4 years in the Navy most of it in the Far East. I stated working for
Houston Lighting Power Co. I worked at several Power Plants throughout the
Houston area including the Nuclear Plant at Bay City. The last 16 years
with the company was spent at our Lignite Power Plant in central Texas. I
retired December, 1999. The local funeral home wanted me to work part
time for them and for a while it seemed as if it was full time. I have
never been one to sit back and watch TV all day. In June of last
year I went into the ministry and now serve two Methodist churches in East
Texas (Latexo and New Energy at Belott).
I like many went through a
divorce. This was in 1988. I married a wonderful lady. Jean and
have been happily married for 12 years. With her kids and mine we have 6
kids, 13 grandkids and 2 great grandkids. My youngest son is in the Army
as an Airborne Military Police at Ft. Bragg, N.C. and 1 of my oldest grandkids
is in the Marines at New River Marine Airbase, N.C. and another is in the Navy
stationed on the USS Eisenhower, homeported in Norfolk, Va. Our 2
youngest Grandkids live about 1/2 mile from us.
My hobbies are working with
wood and making cow patty clocks. Like Coke, they are the real things.
I look forward to seeing all
of you at the reunion. Richard Gillet
