Robert D. Crawford

 

 

ROBERT D. CRAWFORD passed away November 19, 2005 after a 10 year struggle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. His wife Diane and his two sons, Robert and Flint were at his side. Son of N.D. and Madelyn Crawford, Bob was born in Gladewater, Texas on December 16, 1941. He is survived by his wife Diane, his sons Robert and Flint, his extended loving family Stacy Moniat and Michelle Aiken, as well as his sisters Gwen Rider, Nita Couch and Connie Roebuck and his brother Terry Crawford. As he journeyed through life he was a devoted son, faithful brother, loving husband and father as well as an endeared grandfather who loved his family and was loved by his entire family. Robert's career choices always involved the outdoors and cowboy ways. He "cowboyed" all over south Texas, from ranch work to Rodeo pick-up man. He spent 22 years as a Field Inspector for the Texas Animal Health Commission, 15 years with the USDA as an Animal Health Field Technician and was an agent for the USDA patrolling the Rio Grande on horseback. Although his job title changed, he remained a cowboy all his life. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m.Tuesday, November 22,2005 in the State Room of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd. Rosenberg, Texas. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In memory of Robert, the family would ask that friends please consider becoming an organ donor.
