N.C. Action Network

The NC Action Network is a growing coalition of environmental groups working together to make sure citizens have a voice in important decisions impacting NC's environment. As a member, you will receive 8-15 emails per year--only when your letter will really make a difference on a critical issue. It will include a brief description of the issue, and a draft letter. Personalize the letter if you wish, and hit reply. Your letter is on its way directly to your elected official or other key decision-makers. It's as easy as a click of the button.

NC Action Network makes getting involved as easy as checking your email! With a single click, you can weigh in when it counts, sending key messages to your elected officials and policy-makers before they make their decisions.

The Conservation Council of NC Foundation, Environmental Defense, and NC Conservation Network have established the NC ACTION NETWORK (NCAN). NCAN is a coalition of 14 other environmental groups using an Internet-based tool that makes activism on environmental issues in North Carolina easy!

NCAN will send you only 8-15 emails per year on important, statewide environmental issues that we really need your help on. Each email contains some brief background information, and a draft letter that is already addressed from you to your specific legislator. You can personalize the letter if you wish, and then just hit "reply"-- your email is turned into a fax (or email), which goes directly to your legislator. You don't have to hunt for a phone number, or try to remember which district your in! (Every email also gives you the option to be removed from the list.)

Why?

One letter from you can really influence an important decision. Many of our policy-makers rarely hear from their constituents before they make a decision. Sometimes as few as 5 or 10 letters can persuade a state representative to reverse his or her position.
