Money myths on the Internet
|
A Web Money Myth is merely an outlandish claim
of humongous wealth for little or no effort. That's the key to determining
how usable ideas can be - if it requires hardly any steps or planning on
your part, it's just a Bad Idea.
These myths range from "Merely send this
message and 5 one dollar bills to the names listed!" to "Assemble
these products at home and sell them for $3,592!" to "Just get
people to call us and we'll pay you referral fees!" to...just about
anything which makes little-to-no sense.
Why don't these things work? Common sense. First
of all, assembling products at home usually have the disclaimer that "all
assemblies must meet our exacting standards." So anything you create
is sent back. Then consider the amount of time needed for such a little
return - while you could be working on do-able businesses, you are instead
being taken advantage of by unscrupulous people who are counting on your
inexperience with scams.
Some of the most common most popular money myths
include sending bulk email, making
money fast, and your common-garden-variety
scams. I hope you enjoy learning more about how not to get ripped off
on the Internet!
