The Baltimore County Genealogical Society (BCGS) was founded in 1977 to help educate members in tracing their family ancestry, to collect and publish material related to genealogy, and to encourage the open exchange of genealogical ideas and experiences.
We meet on the fourth Sunday of the months of September through June (except December), from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at our headquarters at 8601 Harford Road. (See the map.)
Two special interest groups have been formed and hold meetings at BCGS headquarters:
Guests are always welcome at all of our meetings.

| MEMBERSHIP is open to anyone with an interest in genealogy. We now have about 425 members. Typical attendance at our functions is about 100 members and visitors. | Our extensive and expanding LIBRARY is open on the second Tuesday (5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.), second and fourth Thursdays (10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.), and second Saturday (10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) every month of the year, as well as on meeting dates (noon to 2:00 p.m.). |
