Great Sandy Bottom Pond is a reservoir leased by the Abington/Rockland Joint Water Works Commission. Walking around the pond is about a 2 mile walk with only 1 significant hill. If you come on Columbus Day weekend, you can join us for our annual fall clean-up, by bringing a trash bag and picking up any litter you can find. We suggest you bring a camera and take pictures of the plants and animals there. Pembroke purchased the adjacent site of a former cranberry bog operation, for use as a water supply.
