| Mark <shaolinfuzzy@yahoo.com> Staten island, NY USA | Selling a 1973 White convertible Ghia. Car is on OK condition. It has sat in a driveway covered for a few years - it ran well in 2002-2003 - was able to easily do 50-100 mile drives. It doesnt run that great anymore but I think it just needs a tuneup. The body is in fair shape - but it does need work I had planned to fix it up myself but life/work/marriage has not allowed that unfortunately. I want to find it a good home as it deserves one You can view pictures of the car here: http://flickr.com/photos/mannino/sets/72157594148722357/ Email me with interest. shaolinfuzzy@yahoo.com |

| Lisa French <lisafrench@mindspring.com> Sarasota, FL USA | 1971 convertible Ghia in very good condition. I've owned this car since 1984 and I have a record (and all the receipts) for work done on it from that date. It was my only transportation until a few months ago when I bought (gasp) a Mini Cooper. It is completely intact (all parts, trim, glass, etc.), stock, and I've replaced just about everything at least once. But there is some rust on the rocker panels and underneath. I'm asking $4500 or best offer and I'd like the buyer to make all the arrangements to pick it up. | Friday, May 19, 2006 at 05:58:26 (EDT) |

| John <ghia69@aol.com> Arlington, VA USA | Beautiful 1969 Karmann Ghia CONVERTIBLE, red with a black top and a 4-speed manual transmission for $6700. A true classic that looks good and runs great (it gets ALOT of attention every time I drive it). Transplanted dual-port engine from a later-year Ghia gives you the best of both worlds; a more power engine along with the great body design of a 1969. This is a genuine original Volkswagen engine (NOT weird aftermarket junk) and although the mileage is a mystery the compression and acceleration are great and you can cruise on the highway at 65 mph with no problem. Car runs very well and has new clutch, carburetor, ball joints, tie rod ends, good tires and a brand new battery (over $3500 in improvements in the last 3 years). Since I have owned this car it has been serviced exclusively by a Master Volkswagen mechanic with 40 years experience. Paint has some imperfections but overall is shiny and looks good (small dings here and there, but you won't be disappointed). Interior is very nice; seats and dash are rip-free, has good red floormats, and an inexpensive but good 4-speaker am/fm/cassette player with custom installed back speakers. Tires are all good (even the spare!) I drive on a VA ANTIQUE TAG since you don't need an inspection sticker that way. Being a 35 year old car and knowing how picky state inspectors can be, I cannot and DO NOT guarantee this car would pass a safety inspection (since I have never had one). I would recommend tagging it with an Antique Tag (why take the risk?). Top has small tears here and there and does leaks a little in the rain (don't they all?), but I am including an almost new custom car cover that keeps it dry. Heat is non-existent since I added the exhaust that goes straight out the back (bypassing the heat exchangers and making it smell alot better). This car is very fun to drive and especially rare in this area (in the past 3 years I can count the number of Ghia convertibles I have seen in the DC area on one hand). I would rate this one a "seven" out of "ten"! Please keep in mind that Ghia convertibles in "excellent condition" are now selling for more than twice my price, literally, so although not perfect it is a good price for a car in this shape (if you see it and drive it you will not be disappointed). Car is being sold AS IS and the payment will be is CASH ONLY (I will not even accept a Certified Check since due to today's technology even they are suspect...only cold hard cash). If you have a problem paying in cash please do not write. All transactions will be done IN PERSON only so please don't write if you can't actually come see it and pay for it in person. I will not ship it anywhere so don't bother asking. My email address, Ghia69@aol.com, will be shut down as soon as the car is sold (so if it comes up as "not active" you can assume the car is gone). | Glen Andersen <mosaicplanet@mac.com> 604-215-2189 Vancouver, BC Canada | 1969 hard top Ghia. Original Dusky Orange. 80% restored 10 years ago. Stored most of last 8 years inside. Body close to immaculate. All original chrome, web bumper, includes 1300cc motor for the purist, but I found it is plenty o' power for freeway driving., Runs good, but needs a few items for full stock restoration, such as: front ornament, one cosmetic wheel ring, window rubber, hood latch. Passenger seat is torn and dash has a flaw. A few more grand and you have a rare mint collector car. I am considering investing into rear brake issues and some minor bodywork to the nose but if you want to take it away first, its yours for $5,000 Canadian. | Rick Hamilton <grhmkh@earthtones.com> 216-252-7300 x4047 Cleveland, OH USA | This 1974 signal orange Karmann-Ghia coupe is a onetime Florida car that I purchased in ‘98 w/ 93K original miles on the odometer. It still has the March, 1980 Florida inspection sticker in the windshield. I believe I’m the 4th owner and that both the second and third owners were car collectors. The first owner had more than one VW, and I have numerous Ghia parts that passed to me when I purchased the car (see partial list below). This is not a show car, but is in exceptional condition, as it has never been driven in the winter, and I have garaged the car from November to May since buying it. The 1600cc, dual port engine and 4-speed transmission are original to the car and are in excellent condition. The mechanicals had been meticulously maintained prior to my purchase and since. I have complete records from the eight years I’ve owned the car. All body sections, bumpers, chrome trim and glass are original to the car. When I purchased the car it was about three different shades of signal orange, the bumpers needed rechroming, and the interior needed work. In 2002 I took the car out of service for the year. All glass, chrome and exterior fittings and electricals were removed. The interior was completely stripped. Minor exterior pitting, small rust spots, any dings or dents and a curb-crease to the passenger-side rocker were properly repaired, brazed, etched and trim attachment holes sealed with POR. This car has only a small amount of necessary surface filler. Breaks in the undercoating were resealed. The car was fully sanded, primed and painted signal orange with Chromabase and clear coat. Following completion of the body work and paint, the rechromed bumpers and overriders were mounted on powder-coated bumper brackets. The front bumpers are drilled and the car wired for the Lucas foglamps I chose not to remount. All original chrome, insignia, lamp assemblies and covers were returned to the car. The front windshield and rear window glass were reinstalled with black California-style rubber seals. I have the original chrome pieces should someone want to reinstall them. The engine compartment, front trunk and door seals were all replaced. The interior was redressed with a new black, padded-dash top, and dash and glove-box faces. The dash is fitted with a vintage, aftermarket Motorola AM-FM Cassette player and two quality, in-the-door speakers. The original VDO gauges were returned to the dash. The clock keeps time, the speedometer operates perfectly and the odometer reads 102K. All the electricals operate properly and have new bulbs and lamps. The exception would be the original rear window defroster grid which does not work. New beige nylon carpeting and black seat covers were added. I have the original brown seat covers which only need minor panel repair to go back in the car. I also have full sheepskin seat covers that I have not put back in the car.The original vinyl rear window shelf was restored. As to other work and attention to mechanicals since I’ve owned the car: The original gas tank, not a cheap replacement, has been restored to original condition complete with a new sending unit. The trunk area has a new, coated, grey cardboard insert. I have a beige carpet set for the trunk area. The front discs have new calipers and pads. The front end has just been aligned, and the car has a new steering box. The tires are match-mounted to the vintage, aftermarket aluminum wheels (from Superior Industries in Van Nuys, CA), that carry 1.85 x 15 YKS radials (Korean). The rear brakes have new shoes and rebuilt wheel cylinders. A new fuel pump, carburetor and distributor have the engine idling beautifully. The car has been tuned regularly and the oil always changed at proper intervals. The jack kit is original. The car has both a windshield sunscreen,a full car cover and an anti-theft bar. Here’s the shortlist of additional parts. These are not aftermarket parts, but original Volkswagen Karmann-Ghia equipment. 2-’73 tail-light assemblies w/lenses 1-’74 tail-light asembly w/ lens 2-’74 seat belt receivers 1-’74 turn signal/washer assembly The following are ‘73-’74 pcs: 1 speedo 1 clock/fuel gauge 2 complete seat belt sets 2 wiper arms 2 heat outlet covers 1 window crank mechanism 1 glove box door, cover and lock ...and there’s much, much more! Over the years I’ve looked at a lot of Ghias for sale, both online and elsewhere. You’ll look a long time before finding one more originallly complete or better equipped. I’ve driven the car to work almost every day for six months of the year for about six years and only put about 1500 miles on it each year. Now, I’m trying to downsize for retirement and get to fewer cars and things. The buyer will need to arrange shipment of boxes of additional parts and manuals. I also have an original, glove box owners manual, warranty cards and a 1974 Florida plate for the rear. Take advantage of a great buy! You’ll love this car. Asking $9,000. You pick it up or pay for delivery. Serious inquires only. Email for pictures. |

| Alice <ajwakw@sbcglobal.net> Austin, TX USA | Here is more info on the 1969 Ghia Convertible I posted Friday, April 28--- The car is black cherry red--not sure of the exact name of color. I am the 3rd owner of this Ghia. The original owner bought it in San Antonio, Tx. at Rod East VW in 1969. The person I bought it from was a school teacher in Boerne, Tx. He had the engine rebuilt about 6 months before I purchased it on Oct.10, 1984. It had 33,367miles on it. My first project was to put new disc rotors on the brakes, new calipers, new front wheel bearings, new master cylinder, new rear brake shoes, new rear brake calipers, brake fluid. I replaced the right brake hose on the front, new tie rod on right outer wheel. Also I had the rear drums turned (cleaned up). Project #2: Took all chrome of car, removed winshield, removed torn top, Had the car on jacks, removed wheels, repainted car with original color, replaced all the rubber gaskets, replaced the top & headliner ( with vinyl top like it was original). I had both bumpers rechromed. I rebuilt the front seats & put on new black vinyl covers like the original. I replaced the dash with a new original black vinyl dash. The front part where radio is I replaced with a new woodgrain vinyl panel. I put the car back on the road in 1991. In 2004 I installed an electric fuel pump for the engine. Also in 2004 I installed a Pioneer radio & 12 disc CD player. The CD player is in the front trunk compartment. The car needs a front end alignment, there is no one in our area who knows how to do it. This car has never been in an accident that I know of. I broke the key lock for the glove box & I have a replacement ordered & will put this in. This is an automatic stick shift car (no clutch pedal). The odometer reading now is 37,177 miles, this car has not been driven outside of Gillespie county where we live. It has been in storage for 2 years. It has been in our garage. I purchased a 2004 Audi 2 yrs. ago. I tried to restore as close to original as was possible. Additional VW Ghia parts will also go with this car. I no longer need them. $13,000--US dollars. I have photos if interested. Email me. Thanks for looking. |

| Alice Werchan <ajwakw@sbcglobal.net> Austin, TX USA | I have a 1969 VW Karmann Ghia Convertible for sale. It is an early model 1969, beautiful restored condition. Engine has been rebuilt and runs great. Interior has been restored to original. It is a Automatic Stick Shift. It has had limited driving in the past few years but runs great. Kept in garage. We are just trying to clean out the garage for more space. The only upgrade is a 12 disc Pioneer CD player. The car is in Fredericksburg, Texas--70 miles west of Austin, TX. $13,000. email if interested--ajwakw@sbcglobal.net | Friday, April 28, 2006 at 11:22:11 (EDT) |

| Charlie Ferrie <cferrie925@aol.com> Ft Collins, CO USA | I am forced to sell my beautiful l970 VW Karmann Ghia coupe. (I just bought a '68 convertible) I am the third owner. It is all stock with no rust or body damage at all. It has been repainted with a beautiful pearl (original VW color) paintjob with a frame-up restoration. This car has between 31 to 33 K miles. A few thousand miles were put on the car when the speedometer was not working, so the exact mileage is only approximate. The car has low such mileage because the original owner passed away and his wife kept the car stored in a carriage house for several years. The second owner painstakingly restored it to original condition including new interior and I have babied it for several years. Always garaged and runs like new. 3,000 miles on rebuild Great gas mileage and the horn even works! **$7,000 firm** Will e-mail photos on request. | Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at 16:06:45 (EDT) |

| Don <kickassfilm@yahoo.com> 765-396-9720 Eaton, IN USA | This beautiful 71' Karmann, red with a black hard top, was purchased in December for a film. I have since completed the film and, unfortunately, do not have the time to care for her. I've only owned VWs and I'm sad that I have to sell this one. A little about her (the Karmann): Again, she was purchased in December for use in a film. I am the third owner. I bought it from a couple in Long Island, NY who were relocating and could not bring the car with them. Once the film was completed, hoping I would be able to keep her, I spent time and money to repair and restore the car. I wanted to keep her. I have done the following: Installed a '74 engine Replace the windshield (when she was purchased, the windshield was shattered) New battery Points and cap Replaced the tires New fuel line and filter New brakes New shocks installed New generator New hoses New headlights New chrome muffler New AC adapter installed (cigarette lighter) I had the tracks for the seats re-welded I also have new beauty rings, chrome trim, replacement metal (for the rust on the side), a second side mirror, and some other misc. parts. The seats (including bucket), and door panels were already in great condition. By the time I was finished with her, not only was the engine running beautifully, but I packed her up and drove from New York City to Indiana without a single problem. My dad, a VW mechanic, wanted to help me restore her and has kept her running during the last couple months. Well, I am now relocating to Los Angeles and can no longer afford to keep this car and hope to find someone that will love her and give her the time she deserves. She is a bit of a project car. There is rust damage on the sides...not major, but rust is rust. The interior (aside from the seats) needs to be restored. The interior is how I bought the car and did not get the chance to start work on it. It needs carpet and padding and a dash cover. There is a radio, but the tape player does not work and the speaker could stand to be replaced. She needs a paint job. And that's about it. It really wouldn't take much at all to make this car a head turner. If you're interested in making this your next project or have an further questions, contact Don at 765-396-3720. I am not willing to part out the car, so please do not ask. Asking price is $3200. Buyer will be responsible for shipping costs if applicable. Email for photos. We look forward to hearing from you! |

| Scott McNulty <smcnulty31@msn.com> Amesbury, Ma. USA | Only 67,000 original miles, came from Aruba. We have been letting it sit in our yard thinking we would get around to restoring it. Needs very little, actually road worthy. < Yes it does run, runs great. We start it twice a year and drive it around the block but we never elected to put it on the road and use it. I wanted to replace the original worn carpeting and headliner as well as rubber, but never got around to it. It is all original 1970. Dash does have a crack in it. "NO RUST" whatsoever on the body but rear bumper wings have rust and should be replaced. Pans are solid originals Once again this car runs and drives great $4000.00 |

| The Sage <sage@lastamericantrunkshow.com> 888 486 6700 Traverse City, MI USA | 1956 Hardtop ready for restoration. The first model year of this wonderful car this one was build late November. It is very rare to find one with so much of the parts still attached. Stored on sandy ground, there is rust, but can be put back together with the help of a good welder. My body guy has looked at it and determined it to be a moderate restoration project. Both channels have rust near the front but are good in the middle and rear. This has an engine and transmission, but the hood release is siezed. Bill of sale (title may be arranged). I am not accepting "parts" offers at this time. All 5 original tires come with the vehicle, as well as most of the trim, lights, steering wheel and gauges. Why spend the next 3 years finding parts when this car already has them. Own a piece of history. Transportation to Europe or to a Chicago restoration shop can be accomidated (deliver to Chicago docks) as well as delivery to Mi, Oh, Il, Wi, In for additional fee. I also have a professional restoration firm available locally. $2200.00 |

| Sheila Ward <akeegan3@yahoo.com> atlanta, GA USA | Ready to drive, vintage, 1973 VW convertible Karmann Ghia in extremely good condition. The car was repainted in its origianl Tangerine color in 1991. Although housed in a garage, there are a few places along the back where the paint is chipping, otherwise the exterior paint is still very shiny. The car has 135,570 documented miles on the original engine. I am the second owner of this ultra-cool car and purchased it in 1989. I has been housed in a garage for the past 14 years. The car has gone thru 'minor' restoration, including a new top (replaced in 1992). Just purchased four new tires last month. I only drove this car maybe a dozen times a year when the weather was nice. Its a head turner for sure...I had offers to buy it whenever I did drive it, so now's your chance. Asking $7,500 or best offer. Available to show on weekends only. Email for further info. and time to come see it. Oh, I am not a car buff so don't know any 'technical' details. I bought the car years ago simply because I loved the style. |
