Description for this 69 Vert

It's a '69 model 141 (Left hand drive convertible). Built in December , the 10th 1968, and sold for Christmas. It's one of the first convertible to come with a glass rear window. The car has always been in France since it had left the factory, and has spent most of his life on the Cote d'Azur, and in Corsica where I've found it during '94 summer. It has about 169 000 kms on the odometer.

It's got an interesting license plate, which shows : 69 VW 14.

Color : body Cypres green (L62K), hood Texas brown, interior Sand (all are original colors).

Engine : 1493 cc , H preffix (stock except for the 009 distributor).

Transmission : semi-automatic gearbox, with independant rear suspension.

Options : back-up lights, original Blaupunkt AM/FM radio, wicker-work parcel shelf, dual cicruit warning brake light.

I've done a light restoration work on it, as the car was quite solid, so I've only retrimmed the soft top, and fitted some dropped spindles on the front axle, and replaced the steering box.

The car is now in a very good condition, and it's been kept in a state as close as possible as it was when it left the factory.
