Internships
| AWIS Internships
The Association for Women in Science (AWIS) National Office has paid internships available year-round, each lasting 2-4 months. Interns generally work closely with a staff member who could be the Executive Director, the Financial Manager, the Membership Manager, or the Publications Manager. In the past, interns have acted as the AWIS liaison to the National Coalition for Women and Girls in Education, attended hearings and followed judicial decisions, composed AWIS press releases, worked on public relations, set up cataloging systems for AWIS resources, written for the bimonthly AWIS Magazine, assisted with membership activities, worked on grants, fulfilled information requests, and much more! We try to tailor your educational and work-related needs to the goals of the organization. We hope that our interns can aid us in our mission to achieve equity and full participation for women in science and technology. AWIS interns are a vital part of the National Office operations. Our interns are invaluable to the organization, and we strive to make your experiences with AWIS equally valuable to your own career/ leadership development. To apply, please send your resume and cover letter to AWIS stating the time of year for which you are applying, and the particular interest you have in applying to our organization. We are always looking for interns to help us achieve our goals. Please feel free to contact Kathy Ruby at (202)-326-8940 with any questions. If you would like to help financially support an AWIS Intern, please contact the AWIS national office. Want to sponsor an intern? Visit our 2003 Intern Fundraising page.
