We adopted two wonderful dogs from Hearts United in 1996 and in 1997. An English Shepherd and a Scruffy Terrier Mix named Effie, who is still with us! Meet Scooby Mixed Terrier..Airdale, Wheaten, and A few other breeds He loves to chase mice, Possum, and Squirrels. He also has sheepdog qualities...He checks the fence lines in the yard about five times a day...There is a path worn next to the fence lines.. He is the most Independent Dog we have ever had in the family, and probably the funniest. This guy never sits still.. I Call him my ADHD Baby.. I think it has something to do with his having hearworm before he came to us. I understand him...( I also have ADD, but other people have some names that are not so nice! He just is a very active guy, and friends in New England are not used to a Tennessee Hunting Dog! Yes, this guy is able to catch a critter, and make it bleed...It took me about 15 minutes of common sense...How to get this nasty, bleeding opossum out of his mouth before the dog entered the back door to our house! best friends with Buckley..Skunked? What do do if your dog gets zapped by a skunk? Did your dog get sprayed by a skunk? Heres some help for you until you can take your dog to the groomers. Wash your dog with tomato juice before you give him a bath. Now, the bath with soap and water and rinse well with water that has about 3 tablespoons of ammonia in it. Be sure to rinse well with plain water. Another method? Make a solution of equal amounts of vinegar and water. Scrub the dog well with this mixture. Be sure to rinse well, and then apply the vinegar and water again. Rinse well! Be sure to wash your dog in a well ventilated area. If you can wash him outdoors, this is the best way! |
